How to Make Your Vocal Mix Sit in the Pocket

A vocal that sits in the pocket feels connected to the groove rather than pasted on top of it. Its words remain clear, its dynamics support the song, and its tone leaves room for drums, bass, guitars, synths, and other arrangement elements. This balance comes from several small decisions working together, not from one magic plugin or preset.

The pocket is partly rhythmic and partly spectral.
